Nicole Bender-Ream, LE

Growing up in a family of teachers has made Nicole Bender-Ream, LE a lifelong learner. She has a degree in global studies and Japanese studies and she’s currently teaching herself Korean and Arabic.

A love for anime inspired her to pursue Japanese studies, and an interest in skincare helped her transition from the corporate world onto a path to medical aesthetics during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, Bender-Ream is your girl for radiant skin. She specializes in microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, HydraFacial®, and facials at Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic.

Her approach to skincare infuses passion with education. Sharing knowledge with her patients while helping them improve their skin until they love it is what Bender-Ream is all about.

“To me, knowledge is power, and I want to allay peoples’ fears,” Bender-Ream says.

With that, Bender-Ream truly wants to flip the script on how we view skincare and aesthetics in the U.S. She pays attention to what’s happening in Seoul, South Korea, the skincare capital of the world.

“They come up with some of the most innovative treatments,” Bender-Ream says. “And no one there considers skincare a luxury, it’s considered part of self-care.”

When she’s not studying foreign languages, Bender-Ream is likely playing Dungeons and Dragons, crocheting, or chilling with her cat and king snake. She puts a lot of effort into curating a bioactive terrarium for the snake that mimics his natural wild habitat.

“All the plants in there are real. The dirt includes coconut fiber to help hold moisture for the plants,” Bender-Ream says with excitement.

You can bet that the time she puts behind caring for her pet snake is matched with time learning about ways to help patients advance their skincare journey.
