How can regenerative medicine help me?

If you have arthritis in the knee or other major joints, regenerative medicine may be an option for easing pain and improving function without surgery.

Or, if you have one of several acute or chronic tendon or ligament injuries or conditions, regenerative medicine may offer the same benefits, again without surgery.

Dr. Ryan Woods offers regenerative medicine treatments – also known as orthobiologics – which tap into the body’s ability to initiate a healing response. Recovery time depends on the type of treatment.

What regenerative medicine treatments does Dr. Woods offer?

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, uses a patient’s blood platelets to generate a healing response. It’s most often used to treat arthritis in the knee. It’s also used to treat conditions that include rotator cuff, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, Achilles tendon, plantar fasciitis, jumper’s knee, quadriceps, hamstring, patellar, tendinitis and muscle injuries.

Bone marrow aspirate concentrate, or BMAC, uses a patient’s processed bone marrow to generate a healing response. It’s most often used to treat arthritis in the major joints – knee, hip, shoulder and ankle. This is a stem cell-based therapy.

Best of all, this innovative non-surgical care is available in Green Bay.
