Nitelite 5K run to benefit two local charities

GREEN BAY – The Schneider Community Credit Union Nitelite Run presented by BayCare Clinic, a family-friendly run/walk, returns to downtown Green Bay on Friday, Aug. 5.
Runners and walkers will receive glow necklaces and glow bracelets for glow-in-the-dark fun. The 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course will take participants through downtown Green Bay. Along the way, six DJ stations will play a wide variety of music, including ’80s, ’90s, today’s hits, techno and country.
The Nitelite Run will begin at 8:15 p.m. in front of The Children’s Museum of Green Bay at Northland Avenue and North Washington Street and will end on the CityDeck, one block south of the museum.
Participants are urged to arrive early because of other downtown events, including fireworks on the CityDeck, scheduled for that evening. Parking will be available in the Main Street ramp.
Online registration is open. The entry fee for individuals is $25 through July 31, $30 after. The entry fee for teams of three or more is $23 per person through July 31, $28 after.
