Meet Janelle Klubertanz, certified aesthetic nurse specialist and plastic surgery nurse
Fri, Jul 30, 2021
Janelle Klubertanz, clinical and aesthetic services manager with Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic, is a registered nurse, certified plastic surgical nurse, and certified aesthetic nurse specialist.
Klubertanz lost her younger sister when both were teenagers. Her sister’s memory inspires and motivates her to this day.
“I was in the nursing program when my sister was killed in a car accident,” Klubertanz says. She was 19 and her sister Katie was 16 when that happened. “I feel like that alone helped me realize my desire to help people and made me grow up really fast.
“Going through something as tragic as that really helped shape the caring person I am today,” Klubertanz says. “She helps me be the best me that I can be.”
In her work in plastic surgery and aesthetic services, Klubertanz strives to help others be the best version of themselves.
“I do that because I love people and I feel like I can help grow people,” she says.
Her expertise ranges from assisting plastic surgeons with reconstructive treatments and cosmetic procedures to Botox, Kybella, filler and sclerotherapy injections, CoolSculpting treatments and CO2RE Intima laser treatments.
Klubertanz earned her nursing degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. Her interest in plastic surgery was piqued after completing a rotation in psychiatric nursing.
“There’s a ton of psych in plastics,” Klubertanz says. “I think because I worked on an adolescent unit, I feel people with psychiatric disease of the younger generation are fixable. With moving into plastics, it kind of relates to my passion to help people. I like to empower people to look their best and feel their best. So I think that’s where the connection was.”
After earning her nursing degree, Klubertanz worked in plastics for more than five years before joining BayCare Clinic in 2009. She works closely with board-certified plastic surgeons, Drs. Elizabeth O’Connor and Steven Schmidt.
Klubertanz continuously looks for opportunities to grow her knowledge in plastic surgery and aesthetic services. Since joining BayCare Clinic, she has earned two nursing certifications.
“One of them is becoming a certified plastic surgical nurse and the other one is becoming a certified aesthetic nurse specialist. There are very few people in the state of Wisconsin that are double certified in plastic surgery.”
She also received a 2009 Nurse of the Year Award from the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses.
Klubertanz’s practice philosophy is simple: Treat patients as individuals and practice with a strong moral code.
“I feel like I develop very good relationships with my patients,” she says.
Klubertanz also enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include gardening, golfing and cheering for her kids as their biggest fan at their sporting events.
Janelle Klubertanz is a registered nurse, certified plastic surgery nurse and a certified aesthetic nurse specialist with Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic. She sees patients in Green Bay.
