Children who have trouble seeing may struggle in the classroom. That’s why it’s important to ensure kids have an eye exam.


“If they have trouble seeing, it can lead to learning and concentration issues during the school day. The increased use of electronics during the school day could also strain a child’s vision,” says Dr. Katie Buchholz, a doctor of optometry at BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists in Manitowoc.

Many schools offer vision screenings, but they aren’t the same as a thorough eye exam done by your eye doctor, Buchholz says.
