BayCare Clinic's eye department announces name change
Wed, Jan 6, 2016
GREEN BAY – BayCare Clinic is shedding the name its eye care department has held since 1948.
The clinic, formerly known as BayCare’s Green Bay Eye Clinic, is now BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists. The change took effect January 1.
The name change, the first in nearly 70 years, is an effort to bring increased uniformity to the clinic system’s brands and naming conventions and is a nod to the system’s continued growth.
“The change reflects BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists’ expansive growth over the last seven decades,” said Dr. Joseph T. Bergmann, managing partner for the eye clinic. “Within that 70-year span we have established facilities in a number of communities well beyond Green Bay’s city limits. Our naming convention is now reflective of that, as well as being more in line with the naming conventions of our other specialty departments throughout the clinic system.”
Patients won’t notice much beyond new signage, expected to be installed in early January.
“Physicians and staff will remain the same. Our contact information and locations are the same,” Bergmann said. “Patients can also expect to continue to receive the top-quality, affordable eye care services and positive outcomes we’ve consistently provided them.”
BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists has locations in Green Bay, Oconto Falls, Sturgeon Bay, Oshkosh, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Two Rivers and Marinette. The clinic offers a full range of ophthalmology services ranging from eye exams and laser vision correction surgery to pediatric ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery.
