BayCare Clinic, which has served the Lakeshore region since 1999, plans to build a new 30,000- to 40,000-square-foot facility in Manitowoc to meet growing demand for its specialized healthcare services.

The clinic will be built on 9.3 acres of land near the corner of Waldo Boulevard and Maritime Drive, about a mile northeast of BayCare Clinic’s orthopedics and sports medicine clinic at 501 N. 10th St.

Construction of the facility is expected to begin in spring of 2020 with a spring/summer 2021 completion date. The project includes plans for future expansion.

“Patients and their families increasingly are expecting to receive the level of healthcare services that they would experience in a larger, more metropolitan area, but they want it here, in their community,” says Dr. Carl DiRaimondo, an orthopedic surgeon with BayCare Clinic in Manitowoc. “Our plan to build this new clinic is a direct response to that growing demand and will position us to better serve our community, providing residents the first-class healthcare services they need and deserve.”

The clinic will offer the following specialty healthcare services to patients in Manitowoc, Two Rivers and the Lakeshore region:

  • Orthopedics and sports medicine
  • Urology
  • Pain and rehab medicine
  • Neurological surgery
  • MRI
  • Physical and occupational therapy

“Our new location will feature expanded clinic space, a centralized location, some self-rooming exam rooms, and our specialty healthcare services all under one roof,” DiRaimondo says. “That’s a key benefit for patients and their families.”

BayCare Clinic Eye Specialists will remain at 4801 Expo Drive and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons BayCare Clinic will remain at 930 Maritime Drive, both in Manitowoc.

BayCare Clinic’s expansion plan is evidence that the Lakeshore is a thriving, desirable locale for business and development, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels says.

“It was a pleasure to work with BayCare Clinic leadership to develop this welcome addition to the continued development of our community,” Nickels says. “This state-of-the-art building project is further proof of the Lakeshore region’s viability and desirability. Development projects in the downtown area such as the Schuette Building and Capitol Civic Centre renovations, the addition of the LTC Downtown Campus, along with several expansions in the Industrial Park, and now this new BayCare Clinic facility, serve as evidence of our ongoing efforts to spur continued growth and economic development in our community.”

BayCare Clinic is proud to be a partner in building the community, DiRaimondo says.

“Our physicians, medical and administrative staff all share a deep-rooted dedication to the Lakeshore area. After all, this is home to many of us,” he says.

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place sometime after construction begins.
