WHO: Dr. Lynn Wagner, an integrative lifestyle medicine physician with BayCare Clinic, was interviewed for a WBAY Channel 2 News story on the impact of the federal government shutdown on food safety inspections.


WHAT: The shutdown halted most food safety inspections, including inspections for many “high risk” foods such as soft cheeses, seafood, certain bakery products, and some fruits and vegetables. Wagner suggests looking at your food, smelling it, washing it and doing a taste test to make sure purchased foods are safe to eat.
