WHO: Dr. Scott Westenberg, an emergency medicine physician with BayCare Clinic, was interviewed by WBAY Channel 2 News on Monday for a story about dry drowning.


WHAT: The story was a localized reaction to news of a Texas boy’s recent death attributed to dry drowning. “Dry drowning refers to somebody who gets some liquid in their oral pharynx, which causes spasm of the vocal cords,” Westenberg said.
