WHO: Dr. Cory Vogel, an emergency medicine physician with BayCare Clinic, was interviewed for a WBAY Channel 2 News story about a rare condition called acute flaccid myelitis.


WHAT: Acute flaccid myelitis is a polio-like disease that affects a person’s nervous system, specifically the spinal cord, causing weakness in one or more limbs. Vogel encouraged education on the disease and sought to quell any public unease over the rare illness.
