Providers and staff at Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic in Manitowoc will host a free bike helmet giveaway on Saturday, May 21.
The helmets will be distributed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the parking lot of BayCare Clinic Lakeside Campus at 1111 Bayshore Drive.
The bike helmet giveaway is part of the BayCare Clinic Bikes initiative. Its mission is to increase interest in bicycling while also promoting bike safety, particularly through consistent helmet use.
Helmets of all sizes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. One helmet per person. Helmet fitting is available as needed.
“Our goal is to help increase local awareness of the importance of consistent bike helmet use when cycling,” said Dr. Carl A. DiRaimondo, a BayCare Clinic orthopedic surgeon. “Helmet use helps prevent injury and fosters the safe cycling habits we continue to encourage riders to adopt.”
