GREEN BAY – Charitable giving from the BayCare Clinic Foundation totaled just under $270,000 in 2015, according to recently released figures.
The Foundation – established in 2000 with the goal of supporting area organizations and causes dedicated to improving health and wellness – distributed $269,394.15 to about 45 local, state and national entities in 2015 including: the American Cancer Society, Brown County United Way, De Pere Fire and Rescue, Service League of Green Bay and the Two Rivers Fire Department, among several others.
The Foundation’s charitable giving efforts also benefitted the BayCare Clinic Foundation Healthcare Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships for area students pursuing advanced education in healthcare.
Last year also marked the third year of the Foundation’s five-year pledge to contribute $50,000 to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s Educational Foundation. The funds support NWTC’s nursing and allied health professional development projects. They also support the annual BayCare Clinic Faculty of the Year award. Three NWTC faculty members are each given up to $2,000 to attend a national conference for professional development within their healthcare fields.
