Aurora BayCare offering bariatric surgery seminars

The seminars will be held in a number of local communities including Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette and Oshkosh. Online seminars will also be held on select dates.
The next seminar will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Aurora BayCare Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, 1160 Kepler Drive in Green Bay. Interested parties may register online by visiting the events page on BayCare Clinic’s website, bariatricsgreenbay.com. BayCare Clinic is a health partner with Aurora BayCare.
The seminars are designed for those considering a surgical weight loss option. Topics to be covered include:
- The journey to surgery
- Surgical options
- Post surgery considerations
- Navigating the health insurance process
- How bariatric surgery affects comorbidities
Attendees will be encouraged to ask any questions they may have about the bariatric surgery process.
Bariatric surgery facilitates weight loss by restricting the amount of food the stomach can hold. The procedure usually is performed in obese adults who for various reasons cannot lose weight through diet and exercise.
