Aurora BayCare in the News: Obesity may worsen COVID-19 outcomes

Laura Gintner, a physician assistant with the bariatrics team at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, was interviewed by WBAY Channel 2 News for a story about studies that suggest people with obesity may be at increased risk of serious illness if they contract COVID-19.

 

“It’s really so important to prevent this illness,” Gintner says. “But I just think the thing we should be focusing on as well is the importance of healthy diet and exercise and how that plays a role and that goes for all of us.”
