Dr. Scott Weslow is interviewed by WBAY Channel 2 News

Dr. Scott Weslow, an interventional cardiologist with Aurora BayCare Cardiology, was interviewed by WBAY Channel 2 News for a health feature story about stress-induced cardiomyopathy or Takotsubo syndrome. The condition is often called “broken heart syndrome.”

A Cleveland Clinic study suggests the ailment has increased among some patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We think it might be increasing during the COVID pandemic because of the anxiety and stress from emotional and physical isolation,” Weslow says.
