Neck pain is common.

“Neck pain can be caused by a host of things, ranging from a simple strain or result of sustained bad posture to a pinched nerve or rare infection such as tuberculosis of the neck and meningitis,” Dr. Xinqian Chen, a physiatrist with BayCare Clinic Pain & Rehab Medicine, shared with The Herald Times Reporter.

Ask a Doctor: There’s help for neck pain

To help ease neck pain, Chen suggests:

  • Applying heat or ice
  • Massages
  • Fixing your posture
  • Investing in a comfortable, supportive pillow
  • Neck exercises and stretches

If none of the discussed methods alleviates your pain, seek the assistance of a medical professional, Chen says.
