GREEN BAY – Northeast Wisconsin Technical College instructors Donald Borst, Martha Johnson and Linda Joppe have been honored with individual awards from the BayCare Clinic Foundation board.
They received the BayCare Clinic Faculty Professional Development Award of the Year for their commitment to student success, instructional innovation, individual achievement and teamwork and dedication to the health profession.
The award funds professional development opportunities for outstanding nursing and allied health professionals to enhance instruction. This is the seventh year the foundation has given the award.
“There is no better way, in my humble opinion, to climb the socio-economic ladder than by obtaining a technical college education,” said Dr. Joseph Hodgson, president of the BayCare Clinic Foundation. “We are very excited to support the health sciences program here.”
Each of the recipients will receive up to $2,000 to attend a national health conference. Borst and Joppe are radiography instructors. Johnson is a nursing instructor.
The faculty awards are part of a larger BayCare Clinic Foundation pledge to contribute $50,000 to the NWTC Educational Foundation. In addition to the Faculty of the Year awards, funds will be used to support NWTC nursing and allied health professional development projects.
