Breast implant illness: frequently asked questions

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is a term used by women who have breast implants and who self-identify as experiencing a variety of symptoms they have not yet found another diagnosis to explain.

These symptoms may include fatigue, chest pain, hair loss, headaches, chills, photosensitivity, chronic pain, rash, body odor, anxiety, brain fog, sleep disturbance, depression, and more. These patients often associate these symptoms with their saline or silicone breast implants.

In the below video, Dr. Elizabeth O’Connor, plastic surgeon with Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic addresses these concerns and answers your questions about Breast Implant Illness.
