QWO is the first FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in adult women.
Approximately 9 out of 10 women will have cellulite at one point in their life. Cellulite isn’t fat, and diet and exercise won’t help to reduce its appearance.
Over time our skin thins, fat cells enlarge, and the fibrous bands under the skin thicken and cause tension which creates that ‘dimpling’ effect seen with cellulite in the buttocks.
Smooth out those dimples
Trained injectors at Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic target structures under the skin to reduce the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks with QWO.
QWO is a prescription medicine that uses enzymes known as collagenases to break down and release the fibrous bands that cause dimpling. It also redistributes fat cells and stimulates the growth of new collagen.
Patients will typically receive three treatments each three weeks apart. Injections take approximately 30 minutes. Results will vary.

How does QWO cellulite treatment work?
QWO is injected directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle. Enzymes in the prescription medicine, known as collagenases, target the structural causes of cellulite under the skin. It breaks down and releases the fibrous bands, redistributes fat cells, and stimulates growth of new collagen.
Is this a surgical cellulite treatment?
QWO is an injectable treatment option that targets cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. It is minimally invasive and is not considered surgery.
When can I expect to see results from my cellulite treatment?
Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart. Patients can resume normal activities immediately following the procedure.
How many QWO treatments will I need?
Three treatments will be scheduled three weeks apart and may include up to two treatment areas each.
How do I know if QWO cellulite treatment is right for me?
Ideal candidates for QWO cellulite treatment include women who are in good health and do not have an infection in the treatment area. You should not receive QWO cellulite treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, are allergic to collagenase or the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection in the treatment area. Other conditions can create dimpling in the skin; our specialists can determine if QWO cellulite treatment is right for you.
Can I use QWO in other areas of my body?
Currently, QWO is only approved for treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Additional areas of treatment are still being studied and would be considered “off-label use.”
Are there any possible side effects of QWO?
The most common side effects of QWO include injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area. Serious side effects including allergic reactions and anaphylaxis may be possible.
