BayCare Clinic’s Ear, Nose & Throat doctors, also known as doctors of otolaryngology, diagnose and treat a wide range of head and neck disorders.

Conditions treated:

Ear, nose and throat conditions may occur because of allergies, infections, injuries or congenital defects.

Ear specialists

Healthy ear function involves more than good hearing. It contributes to our sense of balance and directly affects a person’s quality of life. Our team addresses common ear issues including infections, wax build-up and fluid. Our team also works closely with doctors of audiology at The Hearing Center BayCare Clinic to address and treat additional and chronic hearing problems.

Nose specialists

Our nose provides us with our sense of smell and contributes to our sense of taste but also acts as a filter for air and germs when we breathe. Common sinus disorders and nasal problems can cause pain, fatigue, headaches and make it difficult to breathe. BayCare Clinic Ear, Nose & Throat doctors provide expert care for nasal problems from common to complex like sinus allergies, sinusitis and deviated septum.

Throat specialists

The throat is the passageway for air to your lungs and food and water to your digestive tract. When issues arise in the throat it can dramatically affect your ability to perform daily tasks like eating and drinking and may require more serious intervention. Our Ear, Nose & Throat doctors can treat common throat conditions including hoarseness, sore throats, tonsil and adenoid problems, as well as more complex conditions including sleep apnea, thyroid nodules, goiters, cancer, trouble swallowing and snoring.

Head and neck health

Ear, Nose & Throat doctors are specialty-trained in head and neck health, which involves both the digestive and respiratory tracts.

Conditions of the head and neck can range from simple to complex and can include skin cysts, tumors of the neck and or face, salivary gland stones and infections. These conditions can cause serious complications and interfere with eating, swallowing and breathing. If not treated, they may require more serious medical intervention and may even become cancerous.

When detected early, head and neck cancer is often curable. It also can be prevented through some basic lifestyle changes.

Risk factors that contribute to head and neck cancer include smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, poor oral hygiene, ill-fitting dentures and nasal infections.
