    About Ryan Woods, MD, RMSK

    Dr. Ryan Woods pursued sports medicine – and the relatively new field of regenerative medicine – for one fairly straightforward reason.

    “I like to use science to help people,” he says.

    Dr. Woods is a non-operative sports medicine physician. He likes being able to offer individualized treatments to his patients to help them restore function.

    Regenerative medicine treatments, also known as orthobiologics, help ease pain and improve function for people with acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, including arthritis in joints and pain related to tendon or ligament injuries. Those treatments include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC). He also specializes in ultrasound-guided care, including MSK (musculoskeletal) ultrasound.

    Dr. Woods earned his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He served his internship at the Marshfield Clinic and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was fellowship trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation sports medicine at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

    Northeastern Wisconsin is close to home for Dr. Woods in many ways. He enjoys being outdoors – whether fishing, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling or going to Packers games – just as he did while growing up in Upper Michigan.
