B.R.A.s of the Bay
It’s a right
Did you know? Federal law mandates coverage of breast reconstruction for most breast cancer patients, even if the reconstruction is delayed until after cancer treatment is completed.
Undergoing breast reconstruction can have profound physical and emotional benefits for women. It can help enhance their confidence and self-image after a mastectomy.
National B.R.A. Day – Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day – is Wednesday, October 17, 2018. It’s aimed at raising awareness and closing the loop on breast cancer.
To mark this day, businesses from the Green Bay area are invited to decorate bras and display them during September and October. Participating businesses can register decorated bras online. These bras will be voted on by the public via online voting from October 1 to October 17 (ending at midnight).
Join us for B.R.A.s of the Bay, an annual social event that raises awareness about breast reconstruction.
When: Thursday, October 18, at 6 p.m.
Where: Badger State Brewing Company, 990 Tony Canadeo Run, in the Barrel Haus.
What: We will recognize breast cancer survivors and reveal the winners of our bra decorating contest. This evening will include hors d’oeuvres from Chefusion and Island Sushi and a cash bar.
Proceeds from B.R.A.s of the Bay benefit the Ribbon of Hope Foundation with support from the Plastic Surgery Foundation, BayCare Clinic Foundation and Plastic Surgery & Skin Specialists by BayCare Clinic. The event also benefits the national Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day USA Initiative.

For women who have lost a breast to breast cancer or trauma, breast reconstruction can be a physically and emotionally rewarding procedure.
