What is sciatic pain?

Sciatic pain is a common condition that affects people of all ages. Although the pain typically only affects one side of the body, the pain can radiate through the back, thigh, and leg, leaving patients in debilitating pain. Symptoms of sciatic pain include:
- Shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up or use stairs
- Difficulty moving the leg or foot
- Pain, stinging, and burning in the buttocks or leg
