Monday, July 31, 2017
There’ll be plenty of parking options for the third annual Get Your Rear in Gear-Green Bay.
The 5K run/walk takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5. Participants and volunteers can park in the lots around Aurora BayCare Medical Center’s campus at 2845 Greenbrier Road on Green Bay’s east side. The lots are near the start/finish line.
Race day participants, volunteers, supporters and spectators are encouraged to arrive early for the 9 a.m. 5K run/walk to park and prepare for the big event.
The Get Your Rear in Gear run/walk is an effort to raise awareness of colon cancer and better educate the public about the importance of appropriate screenings and early detection. The race is a program of the Colon Cancer Coalition, a Minneapolis-based group that promotes national awareness of colon cancer and encourages increased use of screenings.
Aurora BayCare Medical Center is the event’s presenting sponsor.
Registration for the event is open. The fee is $25 for adults and $15 for ages 12 and under through August 2, the close of online registration. Fees are $30 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and under on race day. The kids’ fun run remains $15.
