Early detection of cancer and other diseases is critical to saving lives.
This February, BayCare Clinic is once again participating in Flannel Check! -- a campaign dedicated to encouraging communities, corporations, families and individuals to schedule annual physicals and other health screenings.
Flannel Check! was created by Waupaca, Wisconsin-based Cutting Edge Health Team. The organization, founded in 2008, is completely volunteer run.
Its mission is to encourage individuals to take a proactive approach to their health and get screened.
Early detection of cancer and other diseases greatly increases a person’s chance for survival.
Cancer causes or illness recognition campaigns are usually represented by a specific color; pink for breast cancer, red for heart disease, blue for colon cancer, black for melanoma and more.
“Flannel patterns bring together every illness in one place,” said David Zowin, founder and executive director of Flannel Check!. “Choose and wear the flannel or plaid pattern that includes the ribbons that resonate for you.”
This February, BayCare Clinic wants you to join the Flannel Check Challenge – wear your flannel shirts, pants, hats, ties, or belts AND schedule your annual physical and or other health screenings.
Be creative and encourage those around you to do the same.
