How often should I have my cholesterol checked?
Wednesday, February 3, 2016
In general, I recommend that every adult should have their cholesterol checked once by age 25. If you have no risk factors for heart disease (family history of early heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking) the age of initial screening could be delayed to 40 for males and 45 for females.
