Bariatric surgery: Holly’s story

Bariatric surgery affects patients in positive ways, but it also can help inspire entire families. Watch as Holly explains her story of how she struggled with her weight and the decisions she made that led her, and her entire family, to lead healthier lives.

“I was having a lot of little issues in my life,” said Holly. “It was hard for me to tie my shoes, it was hard to get out of a chair, it was hard to get out of my vehicle, and those are little things, but when you’re overweight that is very difficult and it’s hard to see yourself not being able to do that anymore.”

Holly met with Dr. Daniel T. McKenna and together they decided that bariatric surgery would improve her overall health. What they didn’t know, was that the decision to move forward with surgery would have lasting and positive effects for Holly’s family too.

“My whole family is like my cheerleaders, they cheer me on,” added Holly. “Right now we have lost a total of 130 pounds in our house because we’re cooking better, eating better, exercising more – so we’re all getting healthy so it’s not about me, it’s about the whole family.”

Holly’s concerns are common for people considering a bariatric procedure. To learn more about bariatric surgery, consider attending one of our seminars or contact us directly at 877-677-5384, or you can request an appointment online.
