A crowd of almost 400 people attended the grand opening event for the new BayCare Clinic Lakeside Campus in Manitowoc on Wednesday, September 22.
The 46,000-square-foot clinic facility opens to patients on Monday, October 4. It’s at 1111 Bayshore Drive, overlooking Lake Michigan just north of the roundabout at Waldo Boulevard and Maritime Drive.
Chris Augustian, BayCare Clinic’s chief executive officer, and Dr. Carl A. DiRaimondo of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine BayCare Clinic in Manitowoc cut a ceremonial ribbon to christen the new facility. They were assisted by chief medical officer Dr. Ashwani Bhatia and purchasing manager Michelle Cropsey, both of BayCare Clinic. Mike Schmidt, BayCare Clinic’s director of strategic growth and business development, emceed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and helped with the ribbon cutting.
Speakers at the ribbon-cutting ceremony included Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels and The Chamber of Manitowoc County executive director Karen Nichols, along with Augustian and DiRaimondo. Jeremy Vance, senior pastor at Faith Church in Manitowoc, offered the invocation.
Dr. Michael Medich and Dr. Joseph Hodgson, representing the BayCare Clinic Foundation, presented a $1,500 donation to Peter’s Pantry of Manitowoc during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, with pantry manager Woody Schulander accepting. Grand opening guests and BayCare Clinic employees donated about 700 pounds of non-perishable food items to a food drive for Peter’s Pantry at the event.
The grand opening event also included leadership tours, public tours and an open-air reception.
